JAH3 Kingston, Jamaica

Run 278

Port Royal, St. Andrew

Port Royal is a challenging location to set an exciting hash but a likely choice when all roads to the country are an even bigger challenge!

The Hares took us ON ON out the hikers' highway and ON IN along the beach which no tourist brochure will ever mention! It's a quiet beach with gentle surf this sunny afternoon, and shall remain a secret, not to display Jamaica's negligence for nature and environment conservancy! Tarzan and Triple L enjoyed searching the sand for treasures, trying to ignore the heavenly sight along the coastline!

I took a short cut towards the Old Anglican Church and churchyard, roaming back through town, passing the roadside fish places towards the Angler's Pub, the hashers' home base for this afternoon. I was reminded at every corner of the legacy of this peaceful fishing village and former capital of the Caribbean Buccaneers! Port Royal's history can be discovered on tombstones and its legacy and fame is captured on advertising bill boards.

Meanwhile hashers came back ON IN and Guano and Cool Runnings prepared for a series of DOWN DOWN's, celebrating new hashers, a myriad of short-cutters, anniversaries, Tarzan's and Split Ends' birthdays and finally, the Christening of Mike Ziki "GI Jane" and Raymond Li "Jet Li"!

Dr. Livingstone presented the most desired mugs to many of our over-25-run-hashers and brought following  Anniversaries to our attention: Burp 185, Coco-Nuts 65, Safari Queen 60, Twirling Broomstick 25, Notorious Viking 20, and Helen Jenkins 10.

New runners:

Ica Reid, Safari Queen's friend

Flora "Lucy Balls", Jen Rothstien, both teachers at the American School

A warm welcome to JAH3 founding hashers the Lander family, who came with their 8 year old twins. The Landers were among the Hashers who started JAH3 in 1998!

And last but not least Millicent Lynch who Rice 'N Peas thought he might have met b4, while she did not remember him!

ON ON!
