JAH3 Kingston, Jamaica

RUN 330
August 1, 2010
Kitson Town, St. Catherine

Experienced hashers and hares, Betty Crocker and Cotton Head set a long but smooth trail through farm land, starting from and ending at Wynter's, a family and  amusement park, and including Archie's Cave. It was quiet at Wynter's on Emancipation Day, almost just us few hashers.

Starting at 600 feet above sea level, we descended to as low as  440 feet and up to 840 feet along undulating farm-trails and dirt roads, in total 4.8 miles or 7.8 km, a perfect trail for runners. Check the trail on Google Earth.

The area is full of almost any produce that Jamaica has to offer - certainly banana, coconut and
(H)ackee as well as breadfruit, jackfruit, naseberry, almond, cashew, pineapple, yam, coco, cassava, pumpkin, curry goat on the hoof and mango. The sweet smell of rotten Mango followed us all the way, some perfectly edible tempted hashers to commit praedial larceny.

Red earth - bauxite country

Nothing else of interest to mention, not even one new runner, no anniversary. The down down would have been short and sweet if not for the Constable who found as many delinquents as possible, but missed Lost Again's farewell. We hope Tony will come back to get wet on a next hash!

ON ON and enjoy the pictures
